At Purple Monkey Brand Architects, we’re all about turning ideas into bold realities. Based in South Africa, we’ve been shaking up the creative and entertainment scene since 2011, blending retro-inspired vibes with Mzansi culture to create branding magic. Whether it’s crafting standout designs, building iconic brands, or managing artists, we approach every project with authenticity, flair, and a party-animal spirit.
Our specialties include Graphic Design, Brand Strategy, Venue & Event Management, and Artist Brand Communication—all designed to help creatives and businesses stand out and thrive. OUR CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Tsepo Khonyane is the visionary founder and creative director of Purple Monkey Brand Architects. With an Honors Degree in Strategic Brand Communications from Vega School of Brand Leadership, Tsepo published a thesis on The Impact of Celebrity Endorsements in Brand Communications: Within the South African Context, showcasing his deep understanding of brand strategy and communications.
His career journey includes stints as a graphic design intern at Wozbona Media, a social media and marketing assistant manager at the University of KwaZulu, an Assistant Brand Manager at Pam Golding Properties, and a Junior Brand Strategist at 5D Collective Agency (BBBDO).
Tsepo was also recognized as a Design Indaba Emerging Creative for his work as a freelance graphic designer. He is currently a consulting Graphic Designer and Creative Director at Rands Cape Town. His diverse experience across design, strategy, and brand management has shaped his unique approach to branding—infusing creativity with measurable impact.
With a passion for pushing creative boundaries, Tsepo continues to lead Purple Monkey with a mission to deliver bold, innovative solutions that transform ideas into lasting brands.
